Ninety (5/6/2026)

GM: Judd Karlman
Player: Sean Nittner
System: Liminal Horror

Nearly 90 days since our last game (78 exactly) we decided to jump to what happened after Judith’s first 90 days as director of the Bureau. Judd shared the article with me and got me thinking about what Director Becker would have wanted to accomplish.

We started the session with a bit of recap of our previous games and a discussion about the metaphors that the paranormal represent, specifically when are they metaphors that reinforce xenophobia vs. metaphors that address the horrors withing ourselves.

Judd recapped the factions Judith has been appraised of:

  • Bloodstone Group – private paramilitary group often subcontracted for capture and kill missions.
  • Hunters of the Weird – list serve of conspiracy theorists who have found weird stuff
  • Panaptacon – a corporate entity that dabbles in the weird for profit
  • Church of Celestial Science – a west coast cult who believes can open their perception to receive powers from beyond.

Fun bits from Chat:

Rookie ride along but is also the ‘big gun’ in the event of disaster.
“I’ll lead the way.” monstrous cosmic horror “On second thoughts, after you, Director.”
I think you are already waist deep in power. You just dont know how to swim.

More notable NPCs.

  • Agent RJ Dean – Longest active field agent. Only survivor of Operation Thule. Spotty points on record but success outweighs censure.
  • Agent Nasir Andrews – Works with people, bringing in the asset Harvey, a paranormal analyst working form Panopticon. Not sure if it’s safe.
  • Harvey – Didn’t think he had enough to offer, so he brought something extra. Studies paranormal possession and has been used to provide medical aid to those who have experienced it. Judith removed his arm to contain the ripper within.
  • Sky Solomon – Witch in Massachusetts. Lives in an old vet office turned into a hospital. DOES NOT LIKE THE BUREAU (for good reasons). Member of the Twilight Sisters.

Cases we didn’t attend personally:

  • Case 2: Agent Cassidy Hall. Leading a small team to look into the hunters of the weird. Found a member of the list serve named Holy Diver. Believe she has a paranormal entity locked in an industrial fringe. Extraction was successful, but Holy Diver was not found.
  • Case 3: Agent Brice Palmer. Temporal event in new York city involving subway cars. Complications.

Other possible casualties (to confirm next session): The Gold Watch, in a shipping container on Boston harbor. Stored there because water has a dampening effect on it. When worn and the dial turned, it ages the wearer.
