Scurlock (cold, enigmatic, arcane, old-fashioned). Paid with spirit of Harathi Salkaran (Elke’s grandmother). The society demanded more and push Scurlock. He calls them vermin. Hix shows the power of The Keeper of the Flame, a sudden light in a room full of shadows, pushing him back and revealing his decrepit form. Scurlock is called out as being a bully. Not pleased.
