System: Guns and Glamour

In 1922 rifts between our world and the Summerlands opened, and refugees from a bitter civil
war limped through, led by what remained of their leadership.  Outside of Chicago, just into
Wisconsin, a band led by the Queen of Summerlands’ former lover Malcolm fought a rear-guard
action, driven through the Veil by Titania’s forces. She sealed it behind them.  Exiled to a noisy,
polluted, stinking world that had forgotten the Fae as all but the villains and heroes of children’s
stories and nightmares, they make their way the best they can, working for those what will have
them.  Very few of the Fae who made it over are not combat veterans of the War, from the
largest Troll to the tiniest Pixie.  They all joined the rebellion and fought for their own reasons.

Rounded up into refugee camps, the governments of the world debated what to do with them.
With nowhere to send them, they eventually relented, and released the Fae into the wider
world.  Now, lord and commoner alike, they’ve settled into life at the lowest rung of the ladder,
eking out a living in the underworld.

Guns and Glamour (G&G) is a role-playing game based off of the game Monster Hearts by Avery Alder, which is itself a hack of Apocalypse World by Vincent Baker.  It attempts to codify into an RPG, the feel of 1920s and 1930s gangster history and gangster films, with the addition of the myths and legends of Faerie, using aspects of both of those systems as a foundation.
