Followed by my work schedule
The start of this session, actually most of this session was about how to act ethically within an organization. The fact that the Bureau deals with paranormal entities is hardly a factor. These were banal phone calls and meetings about what do do with extraplanar entities, which we quickly realized was a question about immigration. While incarceration felt clearly wrong, Judith’s first “better” idea was to send creatures back to their own realities…until she was faced with the fact that she was really just refusing refugees. A harsh pill to swallow.

I did feel good about her stance on extra planar staff, specifically that people will be judged by their actions, not their physiology, but in a world for of unknowns, Judith really didn’t know what dangers or possibilities she was courting.
One of my favorite realizations was that Judith isn’t the kind of person who is good at reading others and so she often has to ask what they are thinking. It makes social interactions awkward, but it also might be a good practice when interacting with the unkown!
Follow up for next time
Philadelphia staff
- Harland Fowler, Director of Security. Former military who has a long track record of containing threats, and occasionally being reprimanded for his use of force. Has a mole in the the Monolith. Outsources to the Bloodstone group
- Emma Rowan, Head of investigations. Uncovered the Bureau as a private investigator to get her job. May be some questions about why she didn’t realize Director Harrison was compromised. Presented on current affairs and threats.
- Anna Reyes, PHD in art history. Very good at sorting out and finding paranatural artifacts.
- Lance Rogers head of containment. Really prestigious family with sorcerous and arcane background. Librarian at the Library of Congress before joining the Bureau.
The Weaver.
- At the vertices of many realities. Curious. Alien. Playfull.
- Informed me of the other self, still trapped on the 10th floor. Awkward conversation when she called.
Proposals
- Options for excising the shadow from the 10th floor (Archivist, standard assignment)
- Feasibility of unlocking the 10th floor long enough to let Shadow-Judith out without also releasing Harrison or the Shadow (Archivist, secondary assignment)
- Plan for entering the 10th floor and destroying or containing Director Harrison and the Shadow (Harland Fowler, report complete and ready for Judith to review)
- Feasibility study to return extra planar creatures to their dimensional origins (Lance Rodgers)
- Options for granting citizenship to extra planar creatures based on some ability to govern them (Lance Rodgers)
- Digital Investigation Subdivision to keep appraised of the Watchers of the Wild (Emma Rowan)
