System: Surge Protectors by Sean Nittner
In celebration of Andy’s birthday, we played a game of transforming robots with big hearts: Surge Protectors.
It is 1984 and the Earth is under attack from a silent invader.
EMPERIONS, mechanoids from the MetalWarp dimension, use their Gravimetric Beacons to launch INCURSIONS into our reality. Emulating our technology they hide among us, slowly siphoning Earth’s natural resources to fuel their conquest of MetalWarp and fulfill an ancient prophecy of destruction, THE SURGE.
Humanity as we know it would perish if not for their own champions—rogue Metalwarp defenders who have pledged to protect the earth from INCURSIONS by their own kin—the SURGE PROTECTORS!
We created amazing robots Skyhog (a B-52 Bomber), Tea Time (a giant carnival Ferris Wheel truck) and Fusebox (a little sedan that goes toot toot). I used the Corporate Takeover Incursion where the small town of Rascal become the center of the next EMPERION plot!
Plutonius Steel, CEO of Terragenics has learned of the WIRE EMPIRE and offered them access to the methane gases beneath the rural town of Rascal in exchange for MetalWarp technology unknown in 1984. He plans to flood the market with new inventions and grow his already vast wealth into a global monopoly. His experiments integrating MetalWarp tech are dangerous at best, but Soothslayer, his EMPERION counterpart assures him that with enough testing he’ll master their technology.
Our SURGE PROTECTORS befriended a local of Rascal, saved people from explosions, sinkholes, and Terragenics enforcers who would have turned them into cyborg warriors. They shut down the fracking operation, defeated Soothslayer, and sent Plutonius Steel packing!
