In celebration of Andy’s birthday, we played a game of transforming robots with big hearts: Surge Protectors.
It is 1984 and the Earth is under attack from a silent invader.
EMPERIONS, mechanoids from the MetalWarp dimension, use their Gravimetric Beacons to launch INCURSIONS into our reality. Emulating our technology they hide among us, slowly siphoning Earth’s natural resources to fuel their conquest of MetalWarp and fulfill an ancient prophecy of destruction, THE SURGE.
Humanity as we know it would perish if not for their own champions—rogue Metalwarp defenders who have pledged to protect the earth from INCURSIONS by their own kin—the SURGE PROTECTORS!
We created amazing robots Skyhog (a B-52 Bomber), Tea Time (a giant carnival Ferris Wheel truck) and Fusebox (a little sedan that goes toot toot). I used the Corporate Takeover Incursion where the small town of Rascal become the center of the next EMPERION plot!
The Photons are 1984s newest band to top the charts but they have a secret: Their unheard of interfused instruments like the key-tar, drummonica, and basebell are actually MetalWarp holoprojecting technology allowing them to create killer light shows and amplifying their high energy rock n’ roll. Eager to use the Photons harmonics as a beacon the WIRE EMPIRE sent a deadly agent to capture them: Buzzkill!
Our SURGE PROTECTORS saved the Photons as they faced challenges together, including:
- A chase through LA to get the Photons Macy, Trish, Chartreuse, and Divine to the Greek Theater in time for their concert with EMPERIONS trying to stop them at every turn!
- During the concert, The WIRE EMPIRE attacked again, threatening the whole crowd!
- At the Battle of the bands, the had to stop Buzkill from summoning the ancient EMPERION Sun Eater from his MetalWarp grave.
- MetalWarp technology is dangerous. Can you convince The Photons to give it back…or recruit them to join your cause? YES and YES!
